Detailed description
Sony FX2 Cage Design
The Sony FX2 Cage is CNC machined from aluminum to protect and enhance the camera's functionality. It securely mounts the camera with a 1/4-20 screw and features multiple 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes with ARRI-style locating patterns for accessory mounting. The NATO rail side design allows quick attachment of side handles and clamps without tools.
Accessory and Cable Support
The cage includes a built-in cold shoe receiver on top for mounting microphones or lights. The integrated HDMI lock system secures the HDMI cable, preventing accidental disconnection during shooting.
Baseplate and Rod System
The SHAPE Ultra-Lightweight Baseplate supports the 15mm LWS rod system, accommodating standard accessories like follow focus and matte boxes. Equipped with two 10-inch rods, it uses a universal ARCA Swiss compatible quick-release plate for fast transitions between tripod or gimbal setups. An optical center locking pin and rear locking lever provide precise alignment and secure attachment.
Accessibility and Compatibility
The cage maintains full access to all camera controls, I/O ports, memory card slot, and battery compartment. Original functions such as the top handle and accessory ports remain usable. The cage is fully compatible with the DJI RS3 Gimbal system.
